HISTORY

The Don Bosco Comoro Vocational Training Center (CFP-DBC) was established in 1991 by the Salesian Congregation of Don Bosco in Timor-Leste, with the intention of providing training to young Timorese individuals from economically vulnerable backgrounds, helping them develop and enhance their technical and professional capabilities.

CFP-DBC is a Catholic educational institution that carries out its activities within the spirit and educational tradition of the Salesians. The institution applies the educational system developed by Saint John Bosco, known as the “Preventive System”. The Preventive System is based on three fundamental principles, which are:

  1. Reason;
  2. Religion;
  3. Loving-kindness (affection).

CFP-DBC offers professional training in the following areas:

  1. General Construction Department, including:
    1. Electricity;
    2. Welding;
    3. Carpentry;
    4. Masonry;
    5. Plumbing;
    6. Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC).
  1. Automotive Department
  2. Administration Department.

CFP-DBC obtained its accreditation from SEFOPE/INDMO on November 22, 2012, with the authorization to provide training and certification for Level I and Level II.

Through the re-accreditation process, CFP-DBC continues to provide training programs for Certificate Level I and Level II, particularly in the area of General Construction—which includes Electricity, Welding, Carpentry, Masonry, Plumbing, and Air Conditioning (AC)—along with the Automotive Department and Administration Department. These programs were re-accredited on October 10, 2025, and remain valid until October 10, 2027.
